Mid- Year Update Post - 2017

So far this year the railroad has seen very slow progress. Started the next bridge and the tunnel. Also have graded about 300 feet of road bed.

This is the first pier for the through girder bridge.

Second bridge pier footing poured. That's 34 60lbs bags of concrete.

This is the start of the tunnel. Hope to have this finished by the end of this year.

End of Work Year Update - 2016

This year we laid 350 feet of track including a siding, most track laid in one year. First switches ever build for the BFSCRR. Our track total is now 810 feet. Here are a few images of the last track laid before the winter sets in. Had to stop track laying at the next bridge. We will be fabricating the bridge this winter.

The New Transfer Lift

The new lift, with some modifications, can now lift the 400 lb. F7 with no problems. We now have 620 feet of track laid. Back to track panel fabrication.

More Track Progress

Haven't updated here for awhile. Now that all of Deer Ridge is graded out we are laying more track. We are now at 540 feet of track laid. More to come.

Looks like a good start for the tunnel. This is now an 8 foot deep cut.

Our new MOW tool. Sure helps moving the dirt and rock around.

Train Wreak

While working on track laying on Saturday we had a derailment. Still don't know what happened. We were going in reverse and then we were on the ground.

Bridge is Finished 6/14/2015

Finally the first bridge is finished. Just needs some cosmetic details but we'll come back to that. Moving ahead with track work.
